Time Education Provides all the PC Answers
Time education has the computer options, from notebooks and single workstations to complete multi-user networks, to provide the answers to schools computer questions. The variety of PCs is matched by the comprehensive selection of software to cover the needs of the full spectrum of learning from infant to further education.
Modern education is not restricted to the classroom but the cost of notebook PCs in the past has dissuaded schools from purchasing. The new range of Time notebooks supplies high specification at affordable prices. The machines have powerful AMD K6-2 3D 300, 333 or 366Mhz processors with 64 or 128Mb of RAM for excellent performance. These PCs can be taken on school outings or field trips providing the ability to make the most of every teaching opportunity wherever it may occur.
Also taking learning outside is the EcoLog portable remote datalogger. This monitors and records the temperature, light and sound either directly into a PC or internally for later downloading. The data can be used in curriculum associated projects such as weather monitoring and as examples of how to carry out data analysis in other areas.
Even when teaching in the classroom, the Internet and the National Grid for Learning mean information can be obtained externally. With an Internet PC or a number of workstations linked through an Intel InBusiness Internet Station, information can be gathered from sources all over the world.
Today children need to understand PCs from an early age. Time education's Infant and Primary PCs give pupils a solid grounding in ICT skills applicable to Key Stage 1 and 2 respectively. The supplied software titles are fun, easy to use and educational such as Reader Rabbit and Mighty Maths Number Heroes, developing skills transferable to other Windows applications.
As students develop their need for ICT widens so the Time education PC range expands. The Discovery, Class, Intermediate and Secondary PCs all come with powerful AMD K6-2 366Mhz processors and 4.3 Gb hard discs capable of holding all the variety of supplied software. The diversity of software allows pupils to develop from simple to complex skills over areas such as word processing, spreadsheets and desk top publishing useful in Key Stages 3 and 4.
For senior students and school administrators the Business PC comes with Microscope Office 97 Small Business Edition. This is ideal for teaching business in class and for running the schools own business management systems.
In addition to individual workstations, Time education supplies small networks and network servers. Time networks make working together and/or sharing information easy from as little as 3 users on a simple peer to peer network up to 75 people on a fully structured CAT-5 system. The in house consultancy team will design an individual system that not only answers today's needs but is fully upgradeable for tomorrow.
